Colin Mackay

Colin was born in Dumfriesshire but came to Ayrshire in 1971 to be a golf professional. He then went on to have his own clothing retail business.
Colin painted a little during this time but after recovering from a serious illness in his early 50s he took up painting seriously and with a passion. He paints in oil with exquisite detail and has received various awards for his work including the Willie Revie trophy, Gallery Eight prize and the Silver Salver and Copper Palette at Troon Art Club.
Colin paints a wide range of subjects all with his very fine eye for light and detail.
